Intro to Sponsorship
Rather than an endless stream of aid, many believe education is the key to lifting Africa out of poverty. On our visits to Uganda, we have been struck by the value Ugandans place in their schooling. It is a Ugandan's greatest hope to be able to attend not only primary school but many years of secondary school and higher education programs. We admire these scholastic goals and hope to help empower Ugandans so they can create their own lasting changes and solutions.

Through the support of generous donors, we have begun a program to sponsor students at all levels of education. Please consider sponsoring a student’s primary education and/or higher education needs. With your help a child in Ddegeya can gain a valuable long lasting education. Not only can you make an amazing difference in the life of a child, but at the same time that child will make a long lasting difference in your life. Through your sponsorship you will also be able to communicate with your sponsored student, and make a personal connection through your giving. You will also have an opportunity to meet other families that have joined the Engeye Scholars family.

How to Become a Sponsor:
Please help provide hope through education. You can choose to take full financial responsibility for the sponsorship of the education costs of a child or you can choose to share that financial responsibility with others. The choice is yours. We have several financial options available to fit your budget. Your commitment involves a five year renewable commitment to ensure that no child’s education is interrupted. The options available for sponsorship are:

Full Sponsorship: Through this option you individually sponsor one child through an annual obligation of $1,000.00 for a boarding school. Payment can be made in quarterly installments or a single yearly installment.

Joint Sponsorship: Through this option we match you with 1, 2 or 3 other families to sponsor an individual child. You can choose a yearly financial commitment of between $250-$500 and your payment can be made in one or two annual installments.

Higher Education Sponsor: Through this option you agree to fully sponsor a single student’s higher education needs. This requires a typical financial commitment of $1,000.00 each year. You are matched with a student who is seeking an opportunity to pursue a higher education degree.

General Fund Donation: Through this option you can simply make a donation to the General Fund. There are always urgent needs to be met, and a donation to the General Fund makes it possible for us to provide assistance to our sponsored children, waiting children, and other children, who have special medical or educational needs. If you would like to donate to the General Fund, please send your donation with a notation that it is for the General Fund and mail it to the address below or make your donation by clicking "Donate."

Please consider a sponsorship or financial contribution to our program. You are the key that will enable us to meet our program's needs. Currently the need far outweighs the available funds. The fund-raising and administrative time of the co-directors of Engeye Scholars is donated to the organization. You can be assured that your contribution can be used almost entirely for direct program expenses. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, and your contributions are tax deductible in the U.S. to the fullest extent of the law.
