Girls Who Care: This incredible group of teens held a walk-a-thon and raised money for a refrigerator for the Engeye Health Clinic so that the clinic can store and dispense immunizations. Not only did they raise money to purchase the refrigerator, but they also purchased school supplies for the students and local public schools and they made a five year commitment to share in the sponsorship of Jessica, one of our newest sponsored scholars.

Walk a Mile in My Shoes:

The wonderful parishioners of Calvary United Methodist Church weren't kidding when said that they could help with the shoe drive for Ddegeya Village. To kick off this fundraising event, the children created 'Walk A Mile in My Shoes' t-shirts and went on to collect over 100 pairs of shoes for the village. Enough money was raised to cover the entire cost of shipping!

Soccer and Sports equipment: Consider organizing your group or friends to collect and send soccer gear and sports equipment.

GOAL: To provide opportunities for recreation and fun through soccer teams and sport activities for the children and families of Ddegeya Village! You can help by collecting and sending new or gently worn soccer cleats, soccer uniforms, shin guards, soccer socks, soccer or sports balls, nets and related equipment. If you are interested in this special project, all you need to do is gather the gently used or new items for the children and adults in the village.

How do you send the sports equipment you collect?

It costs between $100.00-$150.00 to ship a box of soccer equipment from the US to the village by USPS mail. If you would like to collect soccer equipment, the best approach is to fundraise as part of your project so that you will have sufficient funds to ship the items. If you have any questions or if you do not think you can raise the funds to pay for the shipping, please contact us to discuss your options.
