School Support Program:
Become a Contributing Classroom
Bring the realities of the lives of the children of Ddegeya village Uganda directly into your classroom. Ask your students to commit to raising $500.00 for a local school in Uganda. This can be a school-wide challenge, or a project for one class or committee. Here is how you do it:
· Establish a classroom or school goal. Decide to support our School Support program. You could include this project as part of a civics, world history, language, or international class or a service-learning program. Start fundraising to reach your goal.
· Complete the Contributing Classroom form. Once you have raised your contributing classroom funds, complete the classroom form. If you have raised at least $500, you will be provided with a large flat rate box to fill with letters, information about your class, school supplies or other appropriate items of your choosing. Email or contact us by telephone and we will arrange to pick up the box and the donated funds. If you choose, we can put a picture of your class or school on our website and recognize you as a “Contributing Classroom”.
· Use of the Donated Funds. 100% of the donated funds will be used to buy supplies and text books for a local Ugandan school. We will provide you with photos of the purchased books and supplies and photos of those supplies being presented to the students and the school. For each text book purchased with the donated funds, we will place a book plate in the book acknowledging the donation of your school or classroom.

Please Help Educate Children in Uganda:
The world over, education is the key to the future for students of all ages. Bright children in and around Ddegeya with great promise lack the necessary basic school supplies and textbooks to help them learn and succeed. Remember you can help! The cost is so small, but the potential is so great when you invest in a school in Uganda. You can make a dramatic difference in a rural Ugandan village, and help us extend educational opportunities to needy children.
How to contribute:

2. Collect and send school supplies for a classroom.
You can help by collecting and shipping school supplies. The following are the best
items for collection or mailing:
• Stickers
• Erasers, fun styles for incentives and basic erasers
• World maps and posters
• Math and basic English flash cards
• Pencils and sharpeners
• Pens and markers
• Scissors
• English as a second language instructional materials
What about other school supply items?
You are certainly welcome to collect and ship other school supplies that are not on the above list. We have found through past experience that it is best to keep in mind that the shipping costs to Uganda are significant. Spiral notebooks and notebook paper are heavy and these items can be easily purchased in Uganda. We would therefore like to suggest considering a financial contribution toward the purchase of these supplies with your collected items. Any financial contributions should be forwarded by mail to the address above or made through paypal as indicated.
How do we send our collected supplies?
The cost to send the school supplies by USPS mail can range from $65-$100 a box. The best approach is to collect supplies that fill two large flat rate boxes (The cost of sending a large flat rate box is approximately $54.00) so that you aren't spending significant amounts to send items that can be purchased in Uganda. You can then fundraise to donate funds to buy more supplies in Uganda.
Option #1: A large flat rate box
12 ¼ x 12 ¼ x 6
Cost is $53.95 – 20 pound weight limit
Option #2: Box in a box that is no larger than 42 inches in length and 79 inches in length plus girth combined and not over 66 lbs
Cost is dependent on weight see chart:

If you ship supplies, please complete this form and include it in the box with your supplies. If possible, please also include a picture of yourself and/or group. You can then simply mail the collected items by USPS mail to:
Mr. John Kalule
Engeye Clinic, registered NGO
PO Box 26592
Kampala, Uganda
Upon receipt of the items or contribution we will make every effort to send you a picture of the distribution of the items that you sent or which were purchased with your donated funds to the classroom or school.
